How to Find Your Base Sensitivity

PSA (Perfect Sensitivity Approximation) is a method used by gamers to find their ideal mouse sensitivity. Instead of randomly tweaking your in-game settings, PSA guides you through a logical process that balances comfort, precision, and muscle memory.

What is a base sensitivity?

Your base sensitivity is the starting point — the sensitivity you use before PSA begins its 7-step refinement. It should be something that already feels decent but not perfect.

How to determine it

  1. Place your mouse on one edge of your mousepad.
  2. Swipe across the pad in one natural motion.
  3. Adjust your in-game sensitivity until that swipe makes your character turn exactly 360°.
  4. Once it feels right, use that value as your base sensitivity in the PSA Calculator.

Why it works

PSA works by offering slightly higher and lower values than your base. You try both, pick the more comfortable one, and repeat this process. In just a few steps, you end up with a number that's tailored to your aim, movement, and muscle memory.

This removes the guesswork and overthinking that comes with sensitivity tweaking.
